I know, such a stupid question and so very, very pessimistic! Except, nuh-uh. It really isn’t, it is merely that most people do not deal well with reality. I am getting to be an expert on this now as reality is what I am facing day in and day out. Odd, that I never had this thought before. It really is only fatalistic if you do not subscribe to Christianity. There is more, oh, so much more. An eternities worth of more. Except, nobody believes in Christianity any longer so who is smarter? One who believes or one who does not believe?
And this is just one of the things that rattles through this old brain on a fairly regular basis. It’s kind of like those movie clips where a car crashes in a tunnel and bounces off the walls grinding, shattering, and coming to rest when the hero jumps out and shouts: “How’d that happen? I sure as heck was expecting that, Agnes!” (or, words to that effect.)
It’s rather like that if you consider how so many do not make it to old age. Rattling to death in a tunnel of mind. Call it drugs or alcohol or just being sober and dumber than a post. Getting to my age is a thing without luck but it sure seems lucky to me. I guess you recall what I have been through, right. I wrote that here if you are brand new to this little space of internet and I don’t plan to go over it again here.
I love reality because it deserves our affection. If we do not cleave onto reality then we are always disappointed or angry or both. Look at the Democrats for crying out loud! Trump won, fair and square and listen to them belly ache! I didn’t belly ache when Biden got elected, somehow. I merely stated, Well, I suppose four years of this old fart will make people think at last. I figured that thought was a good thing as it tends to iron out the wrinkles in society. Allows a person or persons to get a grip on . . . reality. Hmmmm. Was I wrong, just incorrect, or did I misread the room? Maybe a bit of all three? Not the first time, I reckon.
