Don’t worry, this is not me going on about me ad infinitum, I would find that as boring as waiting for bad news in the doctors office. I know a little about doctors offices at my age though I try to see one as seldom as is possible. Once a year and I’m good to go.
No, my other self has been, though I haven’t actually thought about it much, a techy. A little while ago I learned of A.I. but thought it a feint toward some type of machine manipulation; ever paranoid of the unknown. (I don’t think I am schizoprenic yet but, maybe soon?) I say techy because tech I learned in the U.S. Navy but, I have to tell you, tech does not translate to a keyboard. “Typos ‘R’ Us” is my experience with keyboards. If you knew how much time I take correcting my fingertips you would curl up in a little ball sucking your thumb. Picture that. No, don’t!
So, I began hedging my bets as concerns A.I. but thought I would give it a go despite my advanced age and unlimited ability to screw up. I am glad I did as I am working up a new piece of software which will be similar to what you are reading on here but not so bloated with code and unnecessary items which slow this software down. I have absolutely no education in I.T. as I am of the Lesser Anthropological Student Recalcitrant Society. Cultural if you need to know. A degree which went nowhere is another way to phrase my genius. A circular firing squad might also be what some are prone to describe me as.
However, once I got my feet wet in A.I. I have found it wonderful at opening doors that I did not dare to dream of. Stupid A.I. knows one hell of a lot more than I do but I address it with care and hide my real feelings when using it. Can you fool A.I.? Mayhaps, to borrow a word from L’il Abner, or some other southern person who was brought up in the 19th century. I also used it to speed up my Mac Mini and the speed of that computer is now phenominal. Ten seconds from boot to desktop and this is not an exaggeration, this is me timing it with my watch. Ten seconds and Five seconds to log on. I learned how beneficial A.I. is by ressurecting my late 2014 iMac from death to a new lease on life also. I am writng of that also, but not here. (see below)
I am writing of this experience here and will soon provide a tutorial of how I did it using a Crucial X 10, 4TB SSD. (cost-around $250.00). The rest was the learning curve for which I have an aptitude it would seem. Well, listen to me getting all braggy and full of myself! If I don’t, who will?
